Buy Canadian
We believe in supporting Canadian manufacturers and suppliers, whenever we genuinely can. That means products made with Canadian-sourced raw materials, finished goods made in Canada, and for items generally made outside the country, products designed or engineered here.
This is a strategic choice. We work with smaller, quality-focused Canadian businesses that are competing against large portfolios and often cheaper goods manufactured abroad, and we do it while still working to contain costs and offer products that are engineered to last and provide real value.
Sometimes that means a product, like clothing or electronics, is made in another country. Even then, we look to support a Canadian business as the supplier, and manage costs that way.
We use specific, verified language for every Canadian claim we make. These terms aren't interchangeable, each means something precise:
- Product of Canada — 98% or more of total direct production costs incurred in Canada.
- Made in Canada — 51% or more Canadian content, with the last substantial transformation happening here.
- Designed or Engineered in Canada — the creative or technical development originated here, even if manufacturing happens elsewhere.
- Canadian Company — a Canadian-owned and operated business, even where the product itself is sourced globally.
- Assembled in Canada — final assembly completed here from domestic and imported components.
We verify every claim before applying it. This isn't just a brand value, it's a Competition Bureau compliance matter, and we take it seriously.
This is all part of our Better Tools standard: quality that holds up to real Canadian cottage conditions, from people who understand them.
As our supplier network grows, so will this collection. Here's what qualifies today.
